An Introduction To Evaluation On International
Cooperative Education Program
In order to execute the regulations on international cooperative education of PRC, the Ministry of Education performs the duty of management and supervision to guarantee the lawful rights of the parties involved, by means of evaluation, etc. The academic degree and postgraduate education developing centre in the Ministry of Education has carried out teaching evaluation on the international cooperative education programs since 2000. The teaching evaluation on 58 programs held by 42 units conferring degrees, has been fulfilled.
The evaluation on the international cooperative programs aims at understanding and analyzing the effects of those programs on the subject construction, teaching reform and training model of the national educational institutions involved; at the same time, accumulating the experience thus to improve the management and development of the programs, according to the policies of the internationalization of education.
The evaluating procedures include self-evaluation and on spot expert evaluation. The unit being evaluated first presents report of self-evaluation. On spot expert evaluation involves the following steps: listening to the report of the people in charge of the program, checking teaching documents, inspecting teaching environment and the status of case teaching; holding meetings of the students and the program managing sections respectively. The investigation involves teaching facilities, teaching stuff, program management, teaching organization, teaching achievement, educational features, etc. Finally, the experts group presents an evaluation report concerning the advantages and features as well as the disadvantages and problems of the program involved.
