International Exchanges And Cooperation
Evaluation Department, under the leadership of China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC), has started the international exchanges and cooperation actively. The exchanges of techniques, methods and standards of evaluation have enhanced the mutual understanding between the educational evaluation organizations of China and foreign countries. The Department has, through governmental or non-governmental channels, been trying to seek opportunities to cooperate with the U.S. and other countries in the field of higher education evaluation and accreditation and the field of professional standards of higher education evaluation. Authorized by the government, the Department is in charge of discussing and signing cooperative agreements concerning academic degrees, graduate education evaluation and mutual diploma recognition with the related non-governmental associations and organizations. All in all, the Department serves the China higher education towards the world.
In recent years, the Evaluation Department, according to the arrangements of CDGDC, has held and attended international seminars, and had fact-finding tours in foreign countries. In this way, the Department has extensively exchanged views on the standard, the procedure and the operating mode of higher education evaluation and accreditation with the professional evaluation organizations such as the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, U.S.A. (CHEA), the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. (NEASC), and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, U.S.A. (ABET), and other educational evaluation organizations such as U.S. New & World Report, the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), Canadian Council of Professional Engineers (CCPE), ACQA of Australia, and British educational evaluation organizations. Besides, by paying visits to each other and exchanging information, the Department has developed cooperation in the standard and procedure of evaluation and accreditation with the above-mentioned organizations.
