China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC) is a government-affiliated institutions directly under the Ministry of Education (MOE), and possessing the independent qualification of legal entity. CDGDC was established in 2003, evolving from National Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center established in 1999.
CDGDC consists of seven departments: Administration Office, Evaluation Department, Quality Monitoring and Professional Degrees Department, Verification Department, Information Department, Research and Development Department, and Graduate Affairs Department. CDGDC mainly carries out the work of discipline evaluation, professional degree level evaluation, evaluation of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, and other evaluation works related to postgraduate education; monitors the quality of dissertations; engages in the research on degree equivalency between China and other countries, between Chinese mainland and Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR as well as Taiwan, and provides counseling service of qualification recognition; hosts the magazines of “Chinese Postgraduates” and “Universities and Disciplines”; responsible for the construction and maintenance of the national degree and postgraduate education information system and provide services to the society.
