Universities and Disciplines is an academic journal released quarterly in the area of education. It is supervised by the Ministry of Education, and jointly hosted by China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC) and Peking University. The journal fully applies Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, upholds the correct orientation of public opinion and publication, and has a distinctive and strong focus on academic, policy and practical issues. Universities and Disciplines is working to offer a window on researches in university and discipline development, build a highland of academic discussion and exploration, and establish a platform for exchanges of best practices. It also aims to play a conducive role in serving the development of higher education in China, facilitating theoretical, policy and practice studies in university and discipline development, and improving the discourse system in university and discipline development with Chinese characteristics.
The journal consists of regular columns and special thematic columns. Current columns include Theoretical Research, Frontline Policy, Discipline Development, Talent Cultivation, Evaluation and Supervision, Management and Development, Case Study, and Comparing and Learning. It focuses on the latest global academic advancement, encourages cross-disciplinary research and academic innovation, and organizes thematic research in order to lead discussions of major education theories and issues.
